Melbourne Palliative Doctors was founded in 2021 by Dr Scott King and Dr Indra Jayasinghe recognising a need for improved specialist palliative care in private hospitals, as well as the challenges of providing that care. Our vision is to improve the provision of palliative care to patients and their families during their inpatient stay, improve communication and continuity between the various services that provide palliative care in different settings patients transition through on their illness journey, as well as the transition through the different phases of their terminal illness. 

Currently Melbourne Palliative Doctors provide specialist care to South Eastern Private, Mulgrave Private and Saint John of God in Berwick and are expanding to private hospitals on the Mornington Peninsula. Outpatients are seen by Dr Scott King through his rooms in Noble Park. 

We currently have two associates assisting in providing our service, Dr Hossein Kasiri and A/Prof Michael Franco. Both Hossein and Michael have completed their specialist training in Palliative Medicine here in Melbourne. Next year we will be welcoming more palliative specialists to our team as we continue to expand our service and work towards our vision.
